Dr. Barta is a physician scientist focused on lymphoid malignancies. After completing his clinical training in Hematology and Oncology in the US, he successfully completed the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Clinical Research Training Program (Master’s degree in “Clinical Research Methodology”). He underwent intensive training in clinical and translational oncology research during the prestigious AACR/ASCO-sponsored workshop for Methods in Clinical Research.

Dr. Barta is directing the T-cell lymphoma program at the University of Pennsylvania and serves as the Executive Officer of the NCI-sponsored AIDS Malignancy Consortium (AMC). He participates in the NCCN panel for T-Cell Lymphoma and Primary Cutaneous Lymphomas and is a member of the Board of Directors of the US Cutaneous Lymphoma Consortium. His expertise is design and conduct of early phase clinical trials in lymphoma. Dr. Barta's research focus is on identifying novel targets for the treatment of T-cell malignancies, with a special interest in immunotherapies and cellular therapies, as well as prognostic or predictive biomarkers.
