Dr. Elisabetta Abruzzese is a highly qualified medical professional with an MD and PhD in Haematology, as well as a fellowship in Cancer Biology. She currently works as an MD at S. Eugenio Hospital, ASL Roma2, Tor Vergata University, Rome, Italy. Dr. Abruzzese serves as the Head of the Clinical Research Group on Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) and Myelo Proliferative Neoplasm (MPN) and also coordinates the lymphoma clinic at the same hospital.

As Principal Investigator, Dr. Abruzzese is actively involved in multiple phase II and III studies of CML, MPN, and lymphomas. She is also a co-founder for the Pregnancy and CML Treatment International Committee, and coordinates a multidisciplinary group for the management of fertility, conception, and pregnancy in hematologic diseases.

Dr. Abruzzese is a member of several professional societies, including the Italian Society of Haematology, Italian Society of Experimental Haematology, American Society of Haematology, European LeukemiaNet, and the national board of the Gruppo Italiano Malattie EMatologiche dell'Adulto (GIMEMA) Working Party on CML.

She has authored or co-authored over 150 scientific papers and 10 book chapters, as well as more than 400 meeting abstracts, with a focus on clinical and biological aspects of chronic myeloproliferative disorders, acute leukemia, lymphomas, and myelodysplastic syndromes. Additionally, Dr. Abruzzese serves as a referee for many peer-reviewed international scientific journals and is a member of the editorial board for different international scientific journals.
