Dr. Martin is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Associate Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Director of the Hematology, Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy Program, and Co-Lead for the Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Program in the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Martin has authored numerous articles in hematologic malignancies and has been a thought leader and an invited speaker at national and international meetings. He has been actively involved in clinical research and has been principal investigator (PI) on over 50 clinical trials. Dr. Martin’s main research interests are the development and evaluation of novel therapeutics for multiple myeloma. He played an active role in the clinical development of the novel anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody, isatuximab, and initiated the first Phase I trial combining carfilzomib with isatuximab. Dr. Martin continues to be active in immunotherapy trials, including bispecific and CAR T trials. He has been leading the preclinical and clinical development of a novel UCSF-produced BCMA CAR T therapy.
