Dr. Hira Mian, MD, MSc, FRCPC, is a hematologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Oncology at McMaster University, and a clinician at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (Hamilton, Ontario). She serves as the Multiple Myeloma Disease Site Lead and holds the ArcelorMittal Dofasco Chair in Cancer Therapeutics Research. Her research program focuses on improving outcomes for people living with multiple myeloma, with particular emphasis on clinical trials, real-world evidence, frailty and symptom burden, and health services and outcomes research. Dr. Mian completed her medical degree at McMaster University, specialty training in Internal Medicine and Hematology, and an MSc in Health Research Methodology. She is actively involved in national and international collaboration and guideline work, including with the International Myeloma Working Group, and contributes to education, mentorship, and peer review across the hematology community.
